    Unlocking the Power of Vitamin C in Your Skincare Routine

    Vitamin C is among the primary substances that stimulate collagen synthesis in the skin. Cosmetic products with a high concentration of vitamin C are often called “collagen boosters.”
    Highly concentrated vitamin C serums soften wrinkle lines, and improve skin texture.

    • The presence of concentrated vitamin C in the cream/serum makes the skin more dense and resistant. Also, it prevents the formation of hyperpigmentation due to the harmful influence of UV rays.
    • Regular use of vitamin C serums gradually lightens and refreshes not only the skin but also pigment/age spots on it, as well as marks acne scars.
    • Vitamin C protects the skin from ultraviolet rays.
    • Vitamin C products also help people with facial couperosis as they strengthen fragile blood vessels.

    How to properly use vitamin C in our daily routine:

    Use the serum in the morning
    Applying vitamin C products in the morning when UV radiation is most substantial is desirable. Because it becomes less effective when exposed to light, giving it time to absorb into your skin before going outside is essential.

    Use the products at the right time
    The exact time to use your product depends on what product it is. If it’s a serum, you should put it on clean skin before moisturizing. If contained in your moisturizer, use it at the end of your routine.

    Don’t just use serums
    The most common way to work vitamin C into your skin routine is in a serum. But you don’t have to limit yourself. If you’d instead not add an extra step to your regimen, know you can also get vitamin C in your cleansers, moisturizers, exfoliants, and sunscreen. There are also special powder forms that you can mix with another product yourself.

    Vitamin C and retinol
    Previously, it was thought that using vitamin C products and retinoids should be avoided. This is still true to some extent. They work best in different skin environments, so using them simultaneously can make both less effective. Because they can have similar effects on the skin, experts still don’t recommend using these two ingredients together. Using vitamin C in the morning and retinol before bed is recommended.
